The history of SACW – South American CW Integration Contest begins in the second half of the 1980s. There, with the aim of encouraging the practice and dissemination of CW, the group created the Brazil CW Integration Contest with a different format from existing contests in Brazil , At that time. It rewarded veterans and rookies, reduced the number of bands in addition to rewarding constant presence – so the CWSP offered recognition to radio amateurs present in five consecutive editions.

In 2020, the idea of expanding the contest’s territory came up. For this, the draft of a South American contest was created, with simple rules, that could promote the CW throughout South America. Thus, a team created a model of rules that was distributed for reading and appreciation by all CWSP members and non-members who could give their opinion, criticize and send suggestions, all of which were appreciated by the organizing committee.

Thus, in 2021, we carried out the first version of the SACW, covering all South American countries. We had the pleasure of being able to count on the effective participation of more than 180 radio amateurs, representing eight countries in South America in a true CW party.

In 2022, maintaining the same simplicity of the rules, we arrive at our second expanded edition. You can learn more about SACW by CLICKING HERE and accessing the hotsite we have created, dedicated exclusively to the contest.
